Import your HI organisations from the HI Service

Healthcare Identifier Organisations are organisations that have been imported from the Healthcare Identifiers (HI) Service. When you register your organisation in PCA and link the Agency as a Contracted Service Provider (CSP) in the HI Service, the PCA can search the HI Service on your behalf.

Once your PCA Healthcare Organisation registration has been approved and you've provided a HPI-O number for your organisation, HI Organisation/s will be automatically imported into the PCA, and will be displayed on both the 'Your organisations' screen and on the 'Sub-organisations' tab. Each HI Organisation can have its own set of locations, healthcare services, and practitioners.

Please note: Only HI organisations  linked to the same ABN as the Participation Organisation you registered, will be imported.  

Summary of steps for importing HI organisations:

  • Log in to the PCA Portal and open your Participating Organisation
  • The Participating Organisation screen is displayed along with the Setup an organisation helper wizard overlayed  to guide you in finishing the initial set up of your organisation
  • In the helper wizard, select the Finish organisation setup option
  • Provide a response to the question “Does this organisation provide healthcare to individuals?”Provide a response to the question “Do you want to retrieve HI info about this organisation?”
  • Select the Retrieve HI info button or Don’t retrieve HI info button
  • If the Don’t retrieve HI info button is selected then the process ends
  • If the Retrieve HI info button is selected, enter the HPI-O number of your organisation (i.e. the same HPI-O linked with the Agency as a Contracted Service Provider in HPOS ), then select the Retrieve HI info button.
  • Once the HPI-O number is successfully validated, a success message displays and the HPI-O number is added to organisation details
  • On the Participating Organisation screen, click on the Sub-organisations tab to view imported HI Organisations.

Detailed steps:

Step 1

1. Log in to the PCA Portal and open your Participating Organisation (PO)

Step 2

When the Participating Organisation screen is displayed, the Setup an organisation helper wizard will appear to guide you through complete your organisation setup.

  1. Select the Finish organisation setup option

Step 3

  1. Provide a response to the question Does this organisation provide healthcare to individuals? Select either the Provides or Doesn’t provide button.

Provide a response to the the question Do you want to retrieve HI info about this organisation?

  1. Select the Retrieve HI info button if you want to import your HI organisations from the HI Service OR select the Don’t retrieve HI info button if you don’t want to retrieve HI information such as HPI-O and HPI-I numbers to share with your business partners.

For this scenario, HI info will be retrieved.

Step 5

Input your organisation’s HPI-O number then select the Retrieve HI info button

Once the HPI-O number is successfully validated, a success message displays and HPI-O number is added to your organisation’s details
