This document provides a guide to implementing the 'logical' model detailed by the Agency's PCEHR Medicare Overview Structured Content Specification as an HL7 Clinical Document Architecture Release 2 (CDA) XML document.

The guide contains descriptions of both constraints on the CDA and, where necessary, custom extensions to the CDA, for the purposes of fulfilling the requirements for Australian implementations of a My Health Record Medicare Overview. The resulting CDA document can be used for the electronic access and viewing of the My Health Record Medicare Overview by healthcare providers and individuals.

In addition, this guide presents conformance requirements against which implementers can attest the conformance of their systems.

Clarification: PCEHR means the My Health Record, formerly the "Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record", within the meaning of the My Health Records Act 2012 (Cth), formerly called the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Records Act 2012 (Cth).
