Juliana has worked in public pathology for 30 years. She has a sound understanding of the business of pathology, both operationally and strategically and its relationship and contribution to the clinical care continuum. She has been responsible for the review, planning, policy development, project management and implementation of projects of strategic importance to pathology. Through her role as ICT Director in a major public hospital network pathology service, she has intimate knowledge and experience with the integration of health information and a deep understanding of the importance and potential that interoperability of digital health information can contribute to positive health outcomes for patients and the community at large. She has been an advocate and has led or been engaged with the implementation of a number of digital strategies including the Electronic Health Record across NSW, quality use of pathology through electronic clinical decision support, the electronic delivery of pathology information to the Primary Care sector, the implementation of a mobile web-based application to support access to pathology results, and more recently with the implementation of HealtheNet. She has the added experience of caring for her son who has had a chronic illness for the past 20 years.
