Dr William Yan

William is an ophthalmology registrar and researcher with an interest in population health, digital health and blindness prevention. After earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Monash University, he completed a Master of Philosophy in ophthalmic epidemiology at the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA) - exploring the impact of education and socioeconomic status on the quality and distribution of eye care services worldwide. He is an advocate for technology-driven approaches to increasing healthcare access and sustainability, having collaborated with health technology companies in Australia and overseas in Silicon Valley to develop disease-screening tools for patients and clinicians. William is a Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University and has completed a Fellowship in Digital Health and Ophthalmic Innovation. He also studied clinical informatics with a view to supporting the application, efficiency and impact of data-driven medicine to complement informed clinical decision-making in Australia.
