National Collaborative Network for Child Health Informatics (NCNCHI): Expert Reference Group Workshops

A number of workshops are taking place for the National Collaborative Network for Child Health Informatics (NCNCHI) in Sydney for Expert Reference Groups in July 2017.

Expert Reference Group Meeting – Information Communication Technology and Digital Workstream

Monday 10 July, 10.00am – 4.00pm at Mary MacKillop Place, North Sydney

Information Communication Technology and Digital experts will convene to assess whether initiatives identified in the Partnership Group Workshops are technically feasible, adequately costed, provides value for money, is consistent with national strategy and priorities, timeframes are appropriate and where possible, the initiatives leverage existing infrastructure.

Expert Reference Group Meeting – Community and Clinical Workstream

Tuesday 11 July, 10.00am – 4.00pm at Mary MacKillop Place, North Sydney

Community and Clinical experts will convene to assess whether initiatives identified in the Partnership Group Workshops will positively impact the health outcomes of children and their families/carers, will support the delivery of safer, quality care, supports integrated care, better coordinated care or improved access to care, and supports patient centred care or patient empowerment.

Expert Reference Group Meeting – Research Workstream

Wednesday 12 July, 10.00am – 4.00pm at Mary MacKillop Place, North Sydney

Research experts will convene to assess whether initiatives identified in the Partnership Group Workshops have adequately and appropriately outlined benefits and identified appropriate evaluation metrics. This group is responsible for developing guidance for the Steering Committee on potential metrics and/or research projects that could be developed to evaluate the initiatives.

Expert Reference Group Prioritisation and Validation Meeting

Wednesday 19 July, 10.00am – 4.00pm at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick

Representatives from each Expert Reference Group Workstream will convene to prioritise the initiatives that were assessed over the three Workstream workshops held from 10-12 July. They will make recommendations to the Steering Committee of the top 4 or 5 initiatives to put forward to the Agency for potential funding.

Special Advisory Group

Week commencing Monday 24 July

Industry experts, including representatives from Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA), Medical Software Industry Association (MSIA) and Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), will convene to review the initiatives assessed by the Expert Reference Group.

Background

eHealth NSW and the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network are establishing a National Collaborative Network for Child Health Informatics (the Network) on behalf of the Australian Digital Health Agency.

It is anticipated that by the second half of 2017, the Network will have identified, prioritised and scoped a number of strategic digital projects and initiatives for potential investment by the Australian Digital Health Agency.
