A training environment has been established by the Agency for use by organisations wishing to develop training for clinicians on digital health and in particular the My Health Record system, as built within GP software. This environment is of particular interest to Primary Health Networks (PHNs), but available to any organisation that needs to train users.
The training environment allows digital health trainers to create and demonstrate, using simulated clinical data for a fictitious patient, to a simulation of the My Health Record system, using any of the supported software packages.
Please note that the training environment is not intended to provide detailed training for trainers on how to use the clinical software supported. Instead it provides a tool for trainers to demonstrate how the specific digital health functions work. It is recommended that you are familiar with your selected clinical software prior to running a training session.
The environment currently supports the following software products:
- Best Practice
- Medical Director
Consumer Portal Simulator
The training environment also provides a simulation of the My Health Record Consumer Portal. This system simulates the look and functionality of a consumer's view of the My Health Record system for a fictitious patient, and replicates many of the functions with which consumers may interact.
To support use of the Consumer Portal Simulator, the Agency has developed some step-by-step guides on interacting with the My Health Record, including managing access and setting advance privacy controls.
Request a Time
Advance bookings can be made with the Agency. Once a booking has been made, the Agency will provide instructions on how to connect to the environment and run the simulations as part of your training programme.
On Demand Training
As a healthcare provider, you can now simulate digital health functionality through software simulations at a time that suits you.
