No one knows when they’ll need access to their health information. It could be in a crisis or in an emergency at two in the morning. Fortunately, all you need to access your immunisations, allergy lists or medicines information and more, is a mobile or computer.
Log in to My Health Record via myGov
The first thing you will need to do is make sure that My Health Record is linked to your myGov account.
- Log in to myGov to set up access to your record. (If you don’t have a myGov account, you’ll need to create one first. If you don’t have a myGov account, you can create one at www.my.gov.au)
- Link your record by selecting it from the Link My Services list.
Tip: My Health Record uses details from Medicare to verify your identify. If you haven’t yet linked Medicare, you can do that first. It will then be easier to link and access My Health Record.

There are two ways to either access or view your health information
1. Online - full access
You can securely upload, view and add or manage all the health information in My Health Record from any device. You can also see information on your underlying health conditions or medicines as well as your COVID-19 pathology results.
Access your health information online
Step 1. Select your record to see any stored health information securely uploaded by you, your carers or healthcare providers
Remember to check that your contact details are up to date and set up SMS or email notifications, so you can stay across changes in your record, including changes in immunisation information.
Note: If there are documents missing that you think should be there, ask your doctor to upload them.
2. Using an app - viewing only
You can securely view any health information in your record through the Healthi or HealthNow apps. You can also see information on your underlying health conditions or medicines as well as your COVID-19 pathology results.
It’s your health information - including your immunisation history - in the palm of your hand, and available to view whenever you need it.
Using the Healthi app
Step 1. Download Healthi from the App Store
Step 2. Create and confirm a pin
Step 3. Sign in to your myGov account
Step 4. Give Healthi permission to access your record
Step 5. You can now view your health information including immunisations on the go
Go to the App Store
Using the HealthNow app
Step 1. Download HealthNow from the App Store or Google Play and create your account
Step 2. Check your email to verify your account
Step 3. You can now log in
Step 4. ‘Connect’ to link your record and 'Confirm'
Step 5. Sign in to your myGov account
Step 6. Give HealthNow permission to access your record
Step 7. You can now view your health information including immunisations on the go
