Mark was promoted a decade ago and took on a significant role in managing IT related procurement activities.

Scenario

As an ICT manager, I can ensure that all system requirements are met by focusing on the implementation of standards for systems and technologies. Focusing on these standards ensures that systems are robust, secure and capable of integrating seamlessly with other systems while minimising reliance on internal IT resources.

Acceptance criteria

1. Systems requirements

  • The system or technology should allow for any additional service modules to be added to the platform to ensure complete digitisation and automation of business workflows.
  • It must support the required integration languages specified for health data such as HL7® or FHIR®.

2. Scalability

  • The system or technology must cater to current and future business workflows.
  • It will support future growth and maturity of the organisation without any deterioration in service and performance.

3. Security

  • The vendor must be able to manage patient data in accordance with the organisation’s privacy and data protection guidelines.
  • The system or technology has undergone initial security assessments such as penetration testing to ensure it is secure and not prone to malicious attacks.
  • The vendor is actively pursuing the Essential Eight – Maturity Level 3.

4. Ease of maintenance

  • Support agreements are in place to assist the local IT team in addressing issues and requests.
  • Clearly defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are in place to inform business users and IT stakeholders of resolution and response timeframes.
