Remove or reinstate documents from your record

You're in control of your health information

Only healthcare provider organisations involved in your care, who are registered with us, are allowed to access your information. You can add extra privacy controls, so you can choose which healthcare organisations can access the individual documents in your record. You can also:

  • remove documents from your record
  • reinstate documents to your record

Remove a document

To follow these steps, you will need to have My Health Record linked to your myGov account.

  1. Sign in to My Health Record via myGov:
  2. Select the record you want to access
  3. Select the Privacy & Access tab in the top navigation menu
  4. Select Manage My Document Access
  5. Scroll down to the Documents in your My Health Record section
  6. From the list of documents you can now see, select your document, then select Manage Access

Reinstate a document

To follow these steps, you will need to have My Health Record linked to your myGov account.

  1. Sign in to My Health Record via myGov:
  2. Select the record you want to access
  3. Click the Privacy & Access tab in the top navigation menu
  4. Select Manage My Document Access
  5. Scroll down to the Documents in your My Health Record section
  6. Search for the document you would like to reinstate
  7. Select the Reinstate link next to your document to unhide it
