Prescription records
Your prescription record contains information about medicines you have been prescribed by a healthcare provider. The record also provides details about the healthcare provider who prescribed the medicine and the healthcare provider organisation you visited.
People who can access your record will be able to view this information. Find out more about who can access a record.
What information can be uploaded to prescription record
What information can be uploaded to prescription record
A prescription record may include:
- medication brand name and strength prescribed
- generic medication name
- dosage instructions
- maximum number of prescription repeats
- the date the medication was prescribed and the prescription expiry date
Dispense records
Your dispense record contains information about medicines you have had dispensed by a pharmacist. You can view information about the pharmacist and the pharmacy where the medicine was dispensed.

What information may be uploaded to a dispense record
A dispense record may include:
- medication brand name and strength dispensed
- generic medication name
- dosage instructions
- the number of repeats already dispensed and the number of remaining repeats
- the date the medication was last dispense.
Prescription and dispense information is uploaded to your record by your pharmacist. Once a prescription or dispense record appears in your record you can remove it if you choose to.

Get started:
- Sign in to My Health Record:
Sign in to My Health Record via myGov
- Select the record you want to access.
- Select Documents from the top menu.
- Select Medicines information.
- Select Prescription and Dispense Record.
You can then filter and select documents to see further information.
